I was on the phone with my friend who just started JC recently. She is brand-new to the program and has a lot of questions which is perfectly normal. There is a lot to remember and understand at the beginning. My husband was the same way. She was explaining how she didn't feel a connection to her consultant. In fact, when she was asking a lot of questions she felt like her consultant was irritated with her and made her feel stupid. Whether you are seeing a JC consultant, nutritionist, or personal trainer you should feel free to ask any question you want. YOU are paying them. You are trying to learn more about living healthy and if they are not your "biggest fan" in helping you achieve your goal then they are not the person you want educating and supporting you. It's so important that you find someone that you "click" with or most likely you will not see as much success. I believe that finding a consultant is like finding a good friend or even a partner. You have to make a connection and have some kind of chemistry with one another or it won't work. You'll leave each appointment feeling frustrated. Keep with whatever healthy lifestyle program you're on and keep searching until you find someone that is going to cheer you on and help you reach your goals. Don't be afraid of hurting the person's feelings. I fear this, too, but if you're a person in the field of "counseling" others then you should understand that not every person is going to be the best fit for you. Please don't give up; keep looking until you find the best fit for you. You'll know when you've found it. I couldn't have met my goal weight the previous time without the help of my consultant.
